Meet Michele...
Hi, I’m Michele ~ plant-based health coach, longtime physical therapist, Wisconsin cheese-lover turned plant-based eater, and founder of Wellness Empowered.
In my coaching practice, I’ve had the honor of helping more than 100 people shift to plant-based eating in simple, sustainable ways ~ and watching their confidence grow as they begin to feel better has shown me just how powerful and life-changing this way of eating can be.
For more than 35 years, I’ve been helping people improve their health ~ first as a physical therapist working in rehab and long-term care settings, and now as a plant-based health coach.
As the years went on, I began to see a pattern that broke my heart…
So many of the health challenges I saw could have been prevented.
I spent decades watching people arrive in hospital rooms and long-term care facilities with conditions that were, in many cases, deeply connected to the everyday choices they were making… the ones they didn’t know how to change.
And I couldn’t help but wonder:
What if we could back up the story?
What if people had the tools earlier… before their health crisis… when real change was still possible?
That question is what led me to plant-based eating more than 15 years ago.
I didn’t switch because I was sick.
I switched because I was scared of becoming sick.
I didn’t want to end up in the very facilities where I had spent so many years helping others recover.
I started pretty slow, because I was truly afraid I’d miss cheese and ice cream forever ~ I’m a good Wisconsin girl, after all. 🙂
It took a little time, but eventually my cravings faded, to the point where I didn’t even miss those foods anymore. (I know ~ I was as surprised as anyone!)
And once my fears quieted down… something much better showed up.
I felt amazing.
Energized. Clear. Capable.
And the food? It was shockingly delicious.
Once I experienced how powerful, doable, delicious, and fun plant-based eating could be, I knew I couldn’t keep it to myself.
I wanted everyone to know the possibility waiting for them too ~ especially the people who feel curious about it, hopeful, or quietly afraid of where their health might be headed.
And that’s exactly why I created The Plant-Based DIP.
